Meeting new people at dinner was definitely the most enjoyable thing about the cruise. I strongly recommend seating with different people each night. I wish I had known that the weather would be not much warmer than home, to pack better. The ship's deembarkation technique could be improved. Overall an amazing experience and I would travel with Carnival CruiseLines again.

The ship was so clean and crews were constantly working to achieve this high standard. I loved the food; the choice was wonderful although I didn't discover the omlette and sandwich bar until the morning we were leaving! My husband and I had fun hurtling down the slide into the pool and trying out all the best areas on the deck to get the best sunshine and least amouth of wind. The shows were fun although we didn't know what show would be featured as it wasn't printed on the schedule for the day. I would have loved to spend more time in Cabo. Two days wasn't long enough but it was our first cruise so we will know what to plan for next time.

The staff aboard the ship made our overall cruise experience worth the while. Their wonderful sense of humor and polite manner will make us rebook a trip. Thank you Melchor, Baghaus & Kurt.

An enjoyable trip. Staff very pleasant and accommodating. The ship presented well; the quiet library and the adults only section of the deck were appreciated. I like children but it was nice to have a quiet place to "veg" out. The only frustrating thing was trying to figure out how to get from one area to another. Never did quite get it all sorted out! I realize that there is nothing that can be done about its configuration. One thing that would clear up some of the confusion is have the staff not refer to the different decks by number when the printed guides refer to them by names.

The room was large and had a very large shower. The staff was very helpful and anxious to assist in any way they could. We previously cruised in the Atlantic/Caribbean and found this cruise much smoother even though the ship size was the same. Catalina Island was very nice, Ensenada was disappointing. Carnival could do a better job of assigning dining seating to the passengers. There were at least 30 people that had requested the early seating and were assigned to the late seating. Many of these resulted in family members being split up. We were among these however the Maitre d' managed to shuffle people around and get us into the early seating seated with our family. Make sure that if you are travelling with others and wish to dine with them that it is clearly stated. Overall, in spite of the issues, the cruise exceeded our expectations.

This was our first cruise and we had a great time! Fortunately we were with a large group of great people, so that made it even more enjoyable .Our children had friends on the cruise, so were able to do alot together and that made it really fun for them. The food (especially in the dining rooms for dinner) was fantastic - lots of variety and everything was tasty (esp. the lobster dinner) and the service (of the waiters in the dining room and our steward especially) was excellent! We were really impressed with Stu, the cruise director - his energy and enthusiasm was infectious! A four day cruise really isn't long enough because there is so much to do and see (which is a good thing). And when you stop in port, you don't want to miss anything, so we didn't have enough time just to relax. Next time, we'd go for a week and hopefully there'd be a least a day or two to just relax and enjoy the ship and not feel so rushed! Areas of improvement: The pools on this ship were small and too crowded to be able to enjoy (esp. for our kids - aged 13) - so they didn't even swim once, which was a bit disappointing. On the day of departure, all non-Americans had to be in the Cole Porter Lounge to go through the U.S. customs processing, which we understand, but to have everyone there by 6:30 a.m. and then have to wait for an hour and a half until 8 a.m. when the customs officials arrived was a bit annoying and made for a very long day. If they could have staggered this and even let some people go for breakfast first and then go back would have made that whole process better. A suggestion is since cruises compete with all-inclusive resorts, the cruise industry should consider including liquor as part of the package. Because if I was to choose between a cruise and an all-inclusive, that would be an important deciding factor and I'd probably lean more towards an all-inclusive. But overall, it was a really enjoyable experience and we'd consider cruising again!

The service and staff were incredible, and definately made it feel like we were on a vacation... It was so nice to just relax and not have to worry about anything. Also they made it memorable by personalizing their service, calling us by name, remembering our preferences and literally serving us sometimes before we even had to ask for what we would like.

Enjoyed the ports. Staff on board were courteous and helpful and the ship clean and well kept. Our stateroom steward was helpful and made great towel animals that gave us a smile each evening. The teen activities were well planned and the scavenger hunt with a camera was a hit. Outdoor pool was to cold to enjoy as weather was cool. That could be improved upon.

Best thing? The ease of everything on the ship. Greta relax time to not have to concern myself over when where and how. Most memorable? The cleanliness of the ship and the service by staff was amazing Improvements? The US Customs clearance process was good, but the Elation crew and satff were bumped into the line to disembark first. This created a bit of confusion as many of the crew came late and passengers were waiting from 6: 30 to about 7: 20 befor the Customs agents were ready for their clearance process. I believe crew and staff should clear with the rest of the passengers based on their time of arrival, not preferential status as crew and staff. The debarkation process was confusing and could be improved. Having everyone gather at a central area then take them back down to another gathering area to disembark was futile. Also the staff indicated that if you had the wrong number on the disembarking numbering system you would be sent back. I observed several people with double digit numbers on their luggage walk off the boat with us and were unchallenged. The bus shuttle people could communicate better in the disembarkation process. There are no times posted that suggest buses leave every 30 minutes which created anxiety for a number of passengers when the shuttle director suggested that nobody was in a hurry because their flights did not leavs until noon or later. The ship wanted us off first to ensure we would get our flights on time. The two messages were inconsistent and caused unnecessary confusion and resulting anxiety

Food and Service Excellent. Stateroom Steward Excellent.Entertainment Very Good. Ship in need of some updating. This was being done at end of our cruise. Started packing up patio chairs etc. a day before the end of the cruise. It felt like we were being rushed off the boat. New carpet(red) in our stateroom but fuzz and lint everywhere. Babysitting did not work in our favor. Too large of an age group ie 2 - 11years. Most activities overlapped our Supper and Show. These she did not want to miss. Alot of the activites were Unsupervised with children doing Scavenger Hunts etc. throught the boat. This was no an option for us..... Overall , Happy with the Cruise Life. May try another Cruiseline next time.

The crew is very friendly and accommodating, and I made some new friends from the crew who I hope to see again on future cruises. The ship was nicely decorated for Christmas. While not a fault of the ship, the crew or Carnival, the weather was not the best, the only truly nice day we had was Christmas Eve in Cabo San Lucas. I am sad to hear that Carnival is dropping Cabo from the Elation's itinerary and replacing it with Catalina Island. The future Catalina/Ensenada itinerary is far from ideal, and is hopefully a cruise I will not be taking.

The stateroom was very nice, however I found the ship to be cold almost everywhere inside the ship. Music blared at all hours especially early in the day when the bars were closed, and as one had to walk through these venues to reach another location there was no avoiding the decible level. The piano playing (although one deck below) was directly oustide of the library and not condusive to reading and the card games and game board playing in the library distracted many readers. The staff was very attentive and friendly.

The best thing about the cruise would have to be the meals but I have to say that I'm really not a cruise guy because I find that you don't see enough of the places that you port at, the drinks are extremely expensive as are the excursions and the not included ship activities such as bingo etc. I travel extensively & I recently did a three week trip to Costa Rica, rented a car & travelled from the Caribbean side & all along the pacific side for what probably cost about the same as this 5 day cruise but I did appreciate that it was easy to keep my son entertained on the ship.

Best thing:- no suprises from previous cruises! Most memorable thing:- meeting new friends and seeing new places in a secure, familiar setting (the Elation) Improvements:- maybe tone down the aggressive drink servers on the Lido deck? Maybe expand the in-stateroom TV service?

The treatment from the staff. They almost anticipated any of your needs. The people that we met were from all areas of life and age and it was very special to see us all dressed up for our one night of non-casual dinner. We had to change our dinner from what was noted when we checked in. Had been told we would have early dinner but it was not. I can't think of anything else.

We enjoy travelling with Carnival as they have such wonderful children's programs. This way, my spouse and I can enjoy some alone time while the kids have their own fun with other children. As always, the camp instructors were wonderfully caring ladies who truly enjoyed being with the children. The food and service were very good as we have found with other Carnival cruises. The ship was extremely clean which is very important to me. The shows were very entertaining. The process of getting on and off the ship was very good. Once we arrived on the dock we were on the ship within 20 minutes. Getting off was very smooth as well. The only downfall I can think of is that I preferred the Caribbean ports. Ensenada and Cabo San Lucas are not ports that I would book a trip and stay a week at. If I were to do this cruise again (and I would) I am not sure if I would get off the ship in Cabo San Lucas. This is ok as the ship is very quiet at port and I would just get to enjoy a day of piece and quiet at the pool. We travelled on this ship 10 years ago and I am happy that it was just as nice 10 years later.

I thought there could have been more activities to choose from during the day. I didn't like the photographers coming around every night at dinner time wanting to take pictures, of couples, single shots and then the group. There was enough of that during the day.

We have taken this cruise for the experience of seeing Los Cabos, unfortunatelly there was a storm coming toward LosCabos ,Mexico so the Captain have decided that it will not be safe which is the best thing. The crew have done their very best to accomodate us for the extra day at sea and keeping us up to date with what is going on.What I do not like with this cruise line is that there is that they seems to accomodate the smokers. There's a few place were you can sit and not be bother buy the ciggarrets smoke which is on the deck(open air).As a non smoker plus the group we were in(23 of us) we could not enjoy the dancing at nite the clubs with smoker the ventilation if they have any was not good enough. We have cruised before but this cruise ship is not good for a non smoker. If it is not for the group of fun people that's in our group I will defenitely not enjoy this cruise at all.Thank you.Sony Arcinas

One of the best things about the cruise was the children's actitives and the kid's club. Our cruise director Stu Dunn was excellent. We enjoyed all the entertainment and all the staff were friendly and helpful (especially when you get lost). One thing I felt they could improve on his washing of the hands before eating. On another cruise we took they had someone watch you wash your hands with gel before you enter the dining area. We had an excellent time everything went according to plan.

The best thing about our cruise was the amazing food and great entertainment. Everywhere you turn, there is something going on and everyone is just enjoying themselves so much. We really enjoyed the sit down dinners in the dining room as we got to meet some really nice people whom we bonded with well and had a great time with. Our waitstaff were also excellent and added to the overall experience, especially with their singing and dancing. The most memorable thing for me was the piano bar and the food, especially the desserts. The Grand Gala Buffet was brilliant! The only thing with this is it is so late at night but that just means there are less people up at that time of night so more desserts to choose from! For my wife it would probably be the views, the sun, the atmosphere and the ports of call. Everything about a cruise is so unique and we really don't have anything that we think would need to be improved. We enjoyed every little aspect, from embarkation to debarkation. Carnival is an excellent cruiseline and very recommendable.

The service on the cruise was in most cases amazing. I had a great time talking to the servers on board the ship and everyone was very friendly. The most memorable thing on the ship can't be limited to one event. The karaoke, scenery in Cabo San Lucas, musical events, comedy routines, and magic shows were only some of the few things that really stood out and made the whole experience very enjoyable. There are a few down sides that really need to be improved. I ordered beef dinner on 2 different accounts, and in both cases, the beef was dry and lukewarm at best. I know of several people that skipped dinner due to the lack of quality in the food. On another account when I was watching the comedy show, I had ordered 2 drinks and a glass of water. My drinks were provided but the water was not. I again asked for the water and again it was not provided. I found this very disrespectful since I had to ask on 2 occasions and still did not receive my order. Maybe this was because it was a "free" drink, I'm not too sure for the reason. I asked a different server afterwards and still did not receive my water and had to get it myself. The last thing that bothered me was the 24 hour pizza service. It's a great asset to a ship to be able to provide food around the clock for hungry mouths, but it was too much extra cheese for me. I asked if they could put less cheese on the pizza and the server started complaining that he'd have to make new dough and put the cheese on that. I did not appreciate that since the cruise ship promotes their service yet they can't make food the way their customers would like. Overall the cruise was still quite good but I would pick a different cruise line offering better quality food.

I found that in the evening the entertainment was lacking. I found that often I was bored and found that there wasnt enough entertainment, like comedians or shows of this kind. The enterainers singing in the bars were good but if you are not a bar type of person then there wasnt much else to do.

The whole staff goes out of their way to accommodate you, from the people who make up the rooms to the dinner waiters. Evening entertainment is excellent! The dancers are Vegas quality and the hypnotist (in our case) was very good. Daytime activities are slightly lacking for the 15 to 18 year olds. The pool is VERY small and the hot tubs are almost always occupied. But there are plenty of lounge chairs for basking in the rays and the outside entertainment is great to listen to while you sip on a cocktail in the sun. The food is excellent, especially for the reserved suppers. Our teenage kids really liked the 24 hour pizza as well. All in all, many good memories!

Overall is what I expected. I don't know if the experience would have been any better is it wasn't spring break. With it being a " FUN" ship, they did have party like activities to get the crowd going.I felt like I was in Vegas, lots of lights and bright colours. The ship is a bit dated ( orange coloured rooms)but we had a inside with a cot and it was bigger than expected. There were complimentary toileties( toothpaste, razors) in the bathroom, and the shower had great pressure and plenty of hot water.

1. My Dec 19, 2007 letter re: stateroom was supposed to be for 3 adults and was to have 2 beds and a couch or 2 beds and a bunk. When I received my cruise documents I was booked as a "Category Guarantee", carnival assigned our stateroom prior to sailing (M137). When we arrived to our room there was only 2 beds, 2 lifejackets, 2 robes, 2 deck towels. Our room stewart advised our other bed was coming and delivered our 3rd lifejacket. We went immediately to the Pursers Deck to complain about our room. We had to wait in a line up and when our turn arrived they were putting down the shutters and were told it was the safety drill and were told to go get our lifejackets and go to deck 12. The elevators did not work, we had to go back to 5th Floor and walk up to 12th floor. After safety exercise we immediatly went back to Pursers Deck and were told at that time there was nothing they can do they have nothing available and told to contact our travel agent. We asked if we can be upgraded or if someone with a bunk would switch with us. I paid for 3 people and was provided a room allocated for two people. We learned that someone booked 1 week prior to sailing directly with Carnival and they got 3 proper beds (one of the beds was for a child). 2. We requested a dining room time change from 5:45pm to 6:15pm and was told it was not avail, we were only avail for dining room seatings either at 5:45pm or 8:00pm (one of which was to early & the other to late). We were extremely dissappointed in the dining room breakfast, the waffles looked frozen and the fruit is like a jam. Some of the dining room dinners were satisfactory while some were diappointing. At one dinner seating for 8:00pm we were seated at an area the waiters use for dirty dishes. Some of the best meals were in the serve yourself Tiffany Room. 3. It was difficult to find 3 lounge chairs avail on the Lido Deck (smoking deck) becasue it was the pool area designated mostly for children. 4. More help yourself beverage stations should be allocated around the ship as the elevators were extremely slow and beverages only avail on Lido Deck for juice. 5. The safety exercise was very unorganized, I feel that most of it could have been done while waiting to board the ship. We learned at that time that some guests boarded the ship earlier, had time for a nap and buffet, we had arrived in San Diego at the boarding station and had to wait until our number was called in order to board the ship. Why do some people get to board earlier then others? Thank you Ann

We enjoyed our time aboard the ship. We would of liked more round the clock food and entertainment. We found the live music to be minimal. The games and ship activities were a lot of fun. The Spa was amazing. We were disappointed at the small size of the hot tub. It seemed to always be full of college students! The public areas were beautiful and the staff were very attentive. The stateroom was nice, minimal but functional. Tthe bed and bedding was very cozy. We definately will do this again. We are already planning a longer cruise, and plan to bring the whole family along.

Unfortunately the weather did not co-operate. We only had 2 full days of sun. Weather was a little cooler than I had hoped. The food was very good but not exceptional. Only had 1 midnight buffet. Selections were sometimes limited. I think the Carnival line is not as classy as the Royal Caribbean cruise line.

On the positive side, the ship was beautiful and was kept extremely clean as was our state room. The check in and out process was very smooth and we were quite surprised at how painless it was since this was our very first cruising experience. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom has everything that you need (except a hair dryer!) The shows were exuberant and the energy of the staff infectious. On the negative side, the photographers while having numerous opportunities to take pictures, often did not set up the shots so that eye glasses did not glare. All 3 of us wear glasses and in each case, the glare was terrific. I am hoping that our software will remove the reflection from the several, expensive pictures that we purchased ($22 for an 8x10)! L People in general would be very willing to buy the photos since they do reflect a particular moment of the ship experience. However, when you pay top dollar, the quality of the photography has got to follow. Also, we may have been interested in the spa services but we felt that they too were over priced. You should be able to get a good pedicure for $80 - the lowest price offered on the Elation was over $100. There were many other social activities as well but frankly, the casino and bingos weren’t our ‘thing’. Dining became the low point for the 3 of us as we expected to be treated cordially at each dining time and this was not the case. We often felt rushed. The quality was good but not exceptional. Overall we did enjoy our first cruising experience and look forward to future cruising adventures and possibly with other cruise lines.

1. Just the entire sailing expericence. 2. The crew and staff. Super folks in all areas. 3. The service time in the dinning room was a bit slow- 2+ hours for dinner and lunch. Need to improve in this area.

I found the majority of the cruise to be quite nice, however, there were areas where I would say need improvement. Firstly, I was very disappointed when they told us that we were going to Catilina and Enscenada instead of Cabo.... Cabo was the whole reason we chose this trip. I do understand it was for the safety of the crew and passengers but after flying in from Canada to go down to Cabo, Enscenada was a hole that I would not have put forward to my worst enemy, I walked with my young son and was in fear while walking. I couldn't get back on the ship fast enough! Also, after the announcement was made about the change of itinerary, we were not given an updated schedule of the Circle C activities for the boys, this made it very difficult to relax about the where abouts of our children, meaning that we were constantly searching for them. I feel that they fell down in communitcating a new plan to the parents of the children. My son also told me that they were told that there was an activity to do at a specific time, but when they showed up to do the activity, the cleaning staff yelled at them and told them that this was the time that they were to clean the area and that they needed to leave... This does not make me happy as you then have 15-20 12-14 year olds walking the ship without any supervision and guideance, when we were told that they were to be supervised. The third thing that disturbed me was the photos that they take on board. Very beautiful and would love to have a collection of them.... especially when they seem to alway stop our sons and take the photos.... I think that there were something like 80 photos for our two families.... but no discount on purchase of multiples....they just throw them away if you don't pay the $21.95 I think that this is outrageous and a waste (talk about a carbon footprint!!)... there has to be more money to be made if they were to offer additional savings by purchasing multiple poses. I was also told that we would have refridgerators in our staterooms which we did not... this was disappointing as I like to have cold beverages available to us in the room and perhaps be able to have a treat or two for midnight snacking... I understand that there is the 24 hour pizza.. but I do not enjoy pizza so would like to have put maybe a couple buns away for a snack but could not without refrigeration. I am not saying that I hated it... but I was not as pleased about certain areas.... the staff seemed friendly to the Adults anyway...

My wife and I had a wonderful experience however we were not aware of the amount of tennage passangers abord. Their presence did oot disturb our Cruise however the overall atmosphere was a bit rowdy at night. We did not expect so many teens at once. Other than that the Cruise was most enjoyable.

I have 3 children. 2 of the are twins with age of 1yr 11 month and the other one is 6 years old. Unfortunately during my cruise I almost didn't get the chance to relax and enjoy together with my wife. We always had to have either the twins with us or the other one because the children activities and care were not available at the same time for all ages of children. When the Camp had the activity for children over 2 there was no care available for the little ones and vice versa. This made us very frustrated and we couldn't relax and it made us more tired because at least at home we could leave the infants and the other child to play around and we could relax while on the cruise we had to pay more attention and take care of them. So we couldn't relax and enjoy specially during the day.
