The Cruise was excellent. Relaxed, laid back and loved being at sea for days on end. The staff did not push things at you, no knobbly knees of hairy chest contests, just quiet elegance like a Country Club at sea. Loved there was only a hand full of children. Highlight - the Windjammer Restaurant for Dinner! Selection of Curries and other things Brits like in spacious relaxed surroundings. Preferred it to the Main Dining Room - tried My Time Dining, cramped and poor service. Think that RCI have cut back on some of the extras or maybe that was just for the repositioning. Will do this again and again.

The Itinerary was fantastic, apart from Gotteborg in Sweden;'we would have prefered three days in St Petersburg; two days were not enough to see all the sites. The ship's public areas were very ellegant and spacious. The weather was very cool; I would recommend to future travelers July/August for this location. Overall we had a very good experience; only critism I would have was a service in the cafeteria and main dinning room. The wine and coffee for purchase were very expensive, considering everything is supposedly duty free. The specialty restaurants offered outstanding dinning and sevice. Our room had a balcony, which was not needed;it was nice, spacious and superbly clean.

The ports of call were fabulous. We loved Scandinavia and would definitely go back to Stockholm and Copenhagen. Really enjoyed the specialty dining restaurants on the ship. Sadly, they appear to be under used. We had young people in our group (in their twenties) and unfortunately the average age group on board was probably 70 so the ship catered more to the senior set. The areas and activities which were geared towards a younger crowd were quite dead. Otherwise, it is a great ship and a great itinerary.

Some of the excursions were not worth the money e.g., Dolphin kiss encounter in Costa Rica Too much of the ship allocated to smokers - particularly pool area Pool chairs too close together Casino too smoky Frequent double - overcharge for beverages in bars Wait staff and stateroom attendant were excellent Good variety and quality of food - accommodating and prompt service Good wine selection

Best thing: length of cruise was perfect as was the weather. March is a great month to go. Most memorable: Winning a Blow the Ship's Horn experience at Bingo. My 31 year old son loved it. Improvement: Accommodations in Stateroom. Was very disappointed.

The best thing about the cruise was the hospitality of the crew. The most memorable thing about the ship was how bright and clean it was. Perhaps expanding the seating area within the Windjammer restaurant. At times it was difficult to find a place to sit.

Too many to pick favourites. Shore excursions are my specific interest. On this journey these were excellent! They catered to the different tastes passengers may have. The tour guides knowledge was more than just acceptable. During a relatively short time given one tasted the true historical and cultural flavour of places visited. The ship's cleanliness and always curteous crew reflects well on Royal Caribbean. I hope their lowest level employees are well treated. They are stellar in performing ordinary tasks. The only improvement that might be needed is the main elevators servicing 12 floors. However, if a passenger does not have 5 min. to wait maybe a private yacht should be recommended!!!

The staff were excellent - I was in charge of a large group and the Guest Relations staff were always positive and helpful. The group coordinator on board was also on top of everything, always smiling and very good to work with. The evening shows were well choreographed, the singers and dancers were exceptional, the costumes and staging marvelous. The comedians and other performers were also top quality - a great show overall. My only recommendation would be to consider moving the first formal evening to the 3rd or 4th night to allow time for ironing and dry-cleaning to be returned from the laundry early enough to prepare for the formal. The first formal night on our cruise was on the second evening and our laundry came to our room sometime after 5pm - we were already at a formal gathering in our slightly better than casual clothes since we had nothing else to wear.

We experienced the Norwalk Virus on board, the Captain & crew were fantastic about dealing with the illness. As far as we were advised there were limited cases of Norwalk on board. The excursions were the best yet. All of the company's that were hired to take us on our adventure excursions were excellent at informing us of the risks & the safety measures in place. We had a lot of fun on all of our excursions. The registration to board in Miami & the disembarking procedures were the best ever. We would sail with RCI again, hands down!

The best thing about the cruise was Chops Grill and Portifino Restaurants. The food at these two restaurants were out of this world and ten times better then the dining room and the buffet. The most memorable thing was the ports. The scenery was just amazing. What could be improve is the variety of food. The food is always the same thing everyday at the buffet no variety in fruits or food overall. Was a bit dissappointed. I would rate this trip overall a 3 star. But that is my opinion since I'm quite the critic on cruising.

We enjoyed 10 full days stopping at 5 ports which included shopping, horse-drawn carriage ride, white-water rafting and a ferry ride down the Panama Canal. The Canal was quite interesting but I think the rafting experience was the best tour. The crew onboard the ship made the cruise very enjoyable. They were friendly and took care of all our needs with expertise and professionalism and yet had time to socialize and chat with us. The checkin/disembarking processes were handled proficiently and extremely fast for the number of people. All in all, the trip was excellent and I would glady take a Royal Caribbean cruise again.

The best thing about the cruise was the crew on the ship and how pleasant and helpful they were. The most memorable was how clean the ship was. Disembarking was very smooth and you did not have to sit in a loung sor a long time. Could improve on having mass on the ship especially during lent.

The weather was fabulous and because there were a few days at sea to get to our first Port of Call there was lots of activities and lots of relaxing. We appreciate the fact that there is a pool just for adults. The food was great all the time. We took sightseeing excursions in St. Thomas and St. Croix and we were both a little disappointed in them. In St. Thomas we were not aware that there would be a 2 hour stop at Magen's Bay Beach (which is absolutely wonderful) but we were not prepared for sitting on the beach. And in St. Croix, our tour guide was attempting to sell dolls that she had made herself. We thought that was a conflict of interest. The sightseeing tour we took in Aruba was great. All in all we very much enjoyed the whole cruise and it was a vacation well deserved. We have already put a deposit down on our next cruise with RC.

The best thing about my cruise was celebrating my 50th birthday with friends on the Jewel of the Seas which is my favorite ship. The entire experience was amazing, the only bad part was that it came to an end, but i'm already booked on the same ship next Oct so still have something to look forward to. Due to circumstances we had to make a change in our cabin selection along the way and ended up with the 4 of us in the Royal Family Suite, the perfect set-up for 4 women, I only wish I could afford to sail in a suite every time.

This was one of the best vacations we have ever had. The only downside was that the stay time in the ports of call were shorter than we would have liked. Ideally it would be great to enjoy the city nightlife and not feel rushed to get back to the ship. The ship was HUGE and beautiful (given its 5 star status). There were 2-3 rough sea days with swells about Beaufort 7-10 but this is to be expected when sailing in the North Atlantic. On this ship there are no laundry or iron facilities so everything must be sent to the ships laundry service if need be. So pack carefully and unpack immediately upon arrival. Also, there is no DVD machines with the TV in the cabins and no DVD rental. So take your laptop and rented DVD's if you want this. However, there was something to do every minute of the day if one chose to as well as movies playing both on TV and in their cinema. The movies were replayed frequently as werr certain TV travel channel entertainment and I'm not sure why the ship could not have had a wider list of movies playing everywhere given DVD's are cheap. We will definitely take another cruise as its a great way to see the world while simultaneously living in the lap of luxury.

The Kids' Club is excellent. My older daughter, 11, didn't want to go at first because she thought she'd be with a bunch of "little kids", but she finally went and she and her sister LOVED it! They were always anxious to go back and spend as much time as possible there. Guest Services were also very helpful. We were originally assigned a room very close to the engine and the vibration from it made my husband feel very sick -- so much so that he would have had to disembark at the first port if they couldn't have moved us. We were lucky that they were able to find a room for us at the front of the ship, away from the engine. That made all the difference! Finally, one should expect to pay roughly a quarter of what the tickets cost in all of the extra costs (e.g. drinks, excursions, etc.). The only extra cost that I personally object to is having to pay for the internet. It cost $0.55/minute -- whether you bring your own laptop or not. If you pre-pay for an hour or more, you can bring that cost down to about $0.39/min., depending on how much time you purchase. In this day and age of free WiFi everywhere, I think that this nickle and diming is a bit ridiculous -- especially when you're paying so much for everything else.

We thought the cruise was very enjoyable...the family oceanviews were nice with 8502 being the biggest family oceanview on the ship..my brother-in-law was appreciative....as well, the staff were nice...we have found that since the last cruise we went on with Royal Caribbean, the service levels have diminished...people seemed like they were there because they had to be not because they wanted to be...people not as service oriented...but still had a good time. Anyway, overall, the cruise experience was positive and the kids club excellent..

sight seeing in Stockholm including a visit to the 'Vasa' Museum. As well, the Hermitage galleries in St. Peteresburg we extra-ordinary. Tallin old town exceeded all our expectations of that port stop. Weather was a bit iffy; dressing for a cooler climate is a necessity of this cruise itinerary and part of the world. Most memorable thing about the ship - great food in the dining rooms, amazing food in the specialty restaurants and great room service.

Generally we enjoyed our cruise experience. The staff was very friendly and provided excellent service. Overall food was quite good, you can never please all the people all the time, but a nice balance. Chops restaurant was excellent. In Windjammer, tables were cleaned in a very timely fashion, staff friendly and open over many hours . We did My Time Dining for dinner (which we prefer.) I think it is still in its infancy, and the seating arrangements might be improved with time, ie working it out to form groups of different sizes for variety of dining experiences. As more people sign on, this likely will improve. Staterooms are fairly small, but adequate. We noticed some odors in the bathrooms (stateroom & public). Entertainment was generally varied and quite good. The public areas appear a bit too small for the size of the ship. It was sometimes difficult to get seating in theatre and Windjammmer. We did total package, air, transfers & post-cruise hotel and everything was handled very well. City Inn Westminster in London was a very nice, centrally located hotel that we would consider returning to. We did indepenent tour of St Petersburg that we arranged online prior to leaving, and had a wonderful experience (this must be done with a licensed tour operator). We can see advantages of cruising on a smaller ship (docking closer to cities), but overall, we still enjoyed the total cruise.

This was a marvelous cruise. The ports of call were very interesting and the amount of information provided by the staff in regards to the ports was fantastic. I would have to say the most memorable thing about the ship is the marvelous staff. Each and every person we interacted with went above and beyond to be of assistance. From our room stewart who kept our room from becoming utter caos to the wait staff in the Windjammer and Tides dining rooms keeping us well fed, to the spa staff keeping me pampered, we could not have had a better experience. If I were to comment on an area to improve it would have to be the organization in regards to the shore excursions. For the first time cruising with Royal Caribbean we had some delays and confusion in regards to time and disembarkation for excursions. I do have to repeat that this is the first time we have had this problem and that it is not the norm.

Our first time at sea so everything was new to us and very interesting. We had not expected the depth of luxury offered us on the cruise as a matter of course, so we were quite taken by it all. All the staff were very respectful and helpful. Everything about the trip was memorable for us as this was our first time. We also met some very nice people and have a list of new friends to keep in touch with as a result of this cruise. One thing we did notice however was that it was difficult to find a spot on the ship where we could sit and enjoy the quiet without music blaring in the background from somewhere. The one quiet area that was offered us as guests also allowed smokers access so we couldn't stay there because of the smell of burnt tobacco in the air. One thing we value dearly as a result of the work we do, is peace and quiet - not all the time but at least there for us to find if we want it and without the smell of tobacco burning in the air - and it was hard to find on such a busy ship. Other than that one issue for us, we thought that everyone should experience the life on a cruise at least once in their life. We hope to plan our next one soon.

The ship was beautiful and well cared for. The staff were very attentive and friendly, We really enjoyed the entertainment especially the broadway type shows and the Platters. The ports were very interesting and all the tours except for one were very good. The Aruba beach tour included stops that were not listed in the intinerary and took time away from the beach. The communication on the ship through the newsletter could have been better. The information in the newsletter was the same everyday and there were mistakes. Too many acitivites were in the Centrum and it was overcrowded for many of these activities. The food was good but the choices some evenings were very limited. The Windjammer Cafe was very crowded at meal times and there were many tables that were not cleared so it was difficult to find places to sit. It seemed that they were short staffed in the area. The daily on board programs were not as interesting as on other cruises and there were many games type acitivities and not many that covered interesting subjects. The entire experience was very positive. These things that could be improved did not take that much away from the cruise but I have been on cruises that did not have these issues.

The toughest part are the flights to and from the cruise. We have been unable to do direct flights, I think due to costs. It just makes for 2 long travel days!! The ship Jewels of the Sea is really something to see / experience. A little something for everyone! Panama canal was the highlight of the trip or so I think!! Something this big and yet so simple was / is a marvel to see. We saw crocodiles, held a parrot, held a 3 toed sloth, swam with the dolphins and saw bats and poisonous frogs. What more can I ask for!! Thanks!!

My mom had broken her hip and was in a wheelchair. It had small wheels and difficult to push on the carpets. and over some of the lumps along the way. I recommend any last minute wheelchairs going on a cruise to have the larger wheels on the front. I really enjoyed all the cruise ship had to offer. All the staff was friendly, nearby but not in your face like some other cruises I've been on. Our cabin was kept nice and neat. Always there to give us a helping hand. I would definitely go Royal Caribbean again.

Every outing was well organized, no long lines to get off and on the ship, enough to do, so that one does not get bored on days at sea. the cabin was clean ,looked after often and fresh towels always available around the swimming pools and cabin. We mainly used the Buffett style for our Breakfast and Lunch with the great variety of different foods of Meat and Fish and lots of fresh Salats and Fruits. Dinner we ordered a lacarte, It was nice to be served while enjoying a glass of wine and contemplating the next entertainment for the night. for the after lunch time we appreciated the Balcony for privacy. The People on board fit well. Mainly from America and Germany so no Language problems here. So it was a great holiday for us and hopefully we can do another one one day. Thank you, Christa + Hans Hellinger,

Liked the Inside Room - would not pay more for a window maybe a balcony but not sure how much we would use that. Ate 3 times at the specialty restuarants - was worth the extra charge. The murder mystery was especially fun. Thought the price for the pop card was overpriced. Especially since it didn't include juice. Also would have rather had paid more and had the pop & gratities included. Felt a little nickeled and dimed. Internet expensive & slow. Phone calls extremely pricey. A older crowd for sure

The itinerary was the best part. We love longer cruises to truly feel relaxed. The Centrum area was beautiful on the ship and although the cruise was sold out, there was plenty of space for everyone - always deck chairs, quiet areas, places tod find what you were looking for. Our only two areas for improvement was the lack of attention and problems with the website prior to sailing and we found our table to large to be really conducive to good conversation (sat a table of 12 - 8 should be the largest... very hard to include everyone in the conversation when it was such a big group).

The cruise was great, the ports of call, Aruba, Panama Canal, Costa Rica and Cayman Islands were great. Cartegenia Columbia was not to our liking, too dirty and too many beggars. The ship was fine except the stateroom we had, in the aft section was very noisy, a continuous engine noise 24/7 which made it difficult to fall asleep at times, otherwise it was excellent. The staff was #1 and the food was outstanding, great choices of menus. The trip through the Panama Canal was excellent and the excursions we had were fun and informative. We would do it again....

the best thing about the cruise was the duration lengtht ( 7 days is just too short, as you lose 2 days to travel) and the number of ports of call. everything on the ship was memorable, but the individual steakhouse restaurant, chops grille was well worth the $25.00 added on fee for dinner....service and food were both incredible, and although we were on a ship, i still felt like i was going somewhere really special for dinner... i found everything entirely to my satisfaction, the facilities and the ship were 1st class...

All in all, our cruise experience was excellent. We were very impressed with the staff. All were so polite, courteous, friendly, and wanting to do anything to make our cruise a happy one. The entertainment and activities were excellent. We were very impressed with the infection control procedures taken to prevent illness. We did feel the menu in the Dining room could be improved (more variation, possibly including more seafood). The Dining room attendents were excellent. The late night dining displays ( at the windjammer cafe, and poolside) were super. We enjoyed the towel animals each evening. We did miss the Royal Caribbean Chocolates on our pillows at bedtime. Thank you for providing us with an excellent cruise.

Having a Balcony as a stateroom and being able to enjoy the beautiful scenery and weather. The entertainment was excellant as well. Lots of different things to do for everyone. The food was very good but more seafood variety would have been nice.

- Lot of storage cupboards in the Ocean Veiw room. - Very comfortable bed - Large shower - Food great in main dining room - Food great in the buffett restaurant - Lot of entertainment throught the ship - Crew very friendly - Waiter (Rosbird) and Assitant Waiter (Christian) did an excellent job - Outdoor Pool deck a little small, only one pool, not enough lounge chairs, especially since we had 5 days at sea. - OVERALL, A GREAT VACATION :-)

I appreciated the wide range of activities, dining options, and amenities available to us. The most memorable thing about the ship is the staff. The staff in the dining areas, casinos and for our stateroom were exceptionally friendly and customer oriented. I really appreciated their sense of hospitality. For me, feeling that I am being treated as an individual and not just any customer is important. As well, the Cruise Director and his staff were incredible - they really earn their stars! There was always a smell in our stateroom washroom. I am not sure if it was the chemicals used or the system itself, but it wasn't always pleasant. Also the sales staff who manned the centre counters in the Centrum Shoppes (the ones who oversaw the daily specials) were not always the friendliest people nor, when they were doing their evening draws were they attuned to the customers' comfort. When draws were being done, the area was obviously very crowded, warm, and noisy. Rather than draw out their announcements for the next day sales (often repeated at least 3 times, sometimes four and in a rather condescending manner) people became very annoyed and it was rather obvious. However, this didn't seem to deter them from rebuking some by saying if we didn't quieten down, they would have to just wait until we did - and not always in a pleasant manner.

All arrangements made with Cruise Ship Centre for the ship were great--Miami airport to the Hotel-Hotel to the Ship & ship to the airport @ conclusion.Service and staff excellent--Entertainment was better than anticipated, Improve-Smoking on board did bother us--would prefer ship with non smoking or only on open decks. Would recommend Jewel of the Seas & Panama Cruise to anyone. Air Canada did not seat us together on trip tp Miami--In future would only fly West Jet to Florida.

We really enjoyed the Solarium on the Jewel of the Seas. It was great to have comfy lounge chairs and a swim out of the sun and wind. There was also a nice snack bar in the Solarium that was always open. I loved the roasted red pepper hummus! Our room layout was excellent and had lots of closet and drawer space for our 2 weeks worth of clothing. The love seat was comfy and the selection of movies on the TV in our room was also appreciated. The bed was surprisingly large and comfy. We had 3 meals in the specialty restaurants and found them well worth the additional charges. I hope the Wine and Dine series continues, it was a super way to start our trip! Overall, I would have liked a more varied wine selection but can understand that it is difficult to store wine for that many people on a cruise ship. All of our meals in the varied venues were very good and the staff were excellent! Many thanks to Ricardo in Portofino's; Sixto, Sergei and Zulful in Tides; and the wonderful Anca in Chops Grille! I purchased the RC International cook book and look forward to duplicating some of the superb meals we had. I must also mention how delicious the sugar free desserts were! We always had a seleciton of sugar free treats to try OR the staff would make us a fresh fruit plate or cheese plate. (we both have Type 2 Diabetes) We ate well and didn't gain weight which makes us (and our doctor) very happy! We enjoyed all of the excurions we booked through RC Explorations. In Aruba, we had a great catamaran and snorkelling excursion. We did the Deluxe Cartegna and Fortress in Columbia, the Panama City tour in Panam and the Veragua Rainforest Tour in Costa Rica. Our last snorkelling excursion in Grand Cayman with Nick and Steve was excellent (Don Foster Dive Boats). They recommended the Paradise for our lunch in Grand Cayman - we had the Mahi mahi Cayman style and it was mouth watering! I'm getting hungry just remembering it. The shopping in Grand Cayman was also the best and I had fun cashing in the coupons from the Port and Shopping Guide and treating myself to some new jewellery.

Shore excusions were fantastic. We were disappointed of the size of the ship but know that it had to be narrow to go through the canal. Was nothing like the Voyageur that we went on the last time. We found that the voyage was rough and sometimes could hardly walk because of the waves. My wife was sick a couple of days and the captain cautioned us to be careful. All and in all it was a good voyage. for the improvement. Well, we at time could smell the sewer smell in the washrooms and other place throughout the ship. We advise the crew. The drinks had gone up and we paid over 18.00 for a beer and a drink so we only had one a day. The beer on shore like a Corona was 2.00 !!!!! People would have had a better time if the drinks were cheaper. They had a lot of trouble selling the drinks at that price. Our severs and room attendents were excellent. We notice that the quality of the food had gone down. Must be the times. Also the quality of entertainment was not like the last time. Nobody was too festive around the pool and the entertainment at the pool was terrible. Didn't get the people going at all. We might do an island next time and see what happens.

The entertainment was very good and fit well into our schedule. We loved zip lining in Costa Rica the most and our sting ray swim in Grand Cayman. All the staff were experts in their field and well trained. We would like to further explore Costa Rica and Panama later in the future. Our group liked the cruise so much that we are looking at something in three years for the Mediterranean area. My only complaint was the smoking on the ship. There were far too many sitting and lounge areas that allowed smoking and the casino was always smokey or smelled of smoke. We are all non smokers and many other cruise guests complained of the smoking. I would have thought with today's trend of less smokers that the cruise industry would react quicker to the changes. Are there any non smoking cruises or cruises that have more designated and vented smoking areas?

This is only our 2nd cruise. Last year we did a 9 day cruise with Carnival to the Southern Caribbean. The first thing we noticed is that Royal Caribbean has learned how to manage crowds much better. It took us mere minutes to board the ship with virtually no lineups to wait in. This was excellent! The quality of food in the restaurant far exceeded our expectations. The service was adequate but not great. We paid the premium to have dinner in Portofino's Restaurant one evening. The quality of the food was very poor, the service was atrocious and we had to pay for water. They need to improve this area of their ship. Although I mentioned earlier that they've mastered crowd management boarding the ship and for that matter disembarking at all ports; the design of the ship created lineups every night leaving the show and going for dinner. There was only one route from front to back through the photo gallery and every night it was congested. Also, smoking was an issue on the ship. It was difficult to avoid going through the casino which was thick with smoke and many of the bars and lounges allowed smoking. Even when we sat on our spacious balcony, we had to inhale the smoke from all of our neighbors. There is little point in allowing smoking in a portion of the bar because the smoke doesn't stay confined to that area. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only other complaint was the additional charges for everything. Yoga class, water, expresso coffee or latte are things that extra charges shouldn't apply for. Overall it was a very good experience. We would definitely travel with Royal Caribbean again and would recommend them to our friends.

We thoroughly enjoyed our cruising experience aboard Jewel of the Seas. This is our second trip on the Jewel and we were not disappointed. Much of our time was spent in the Gym and Spa area and we particularly liked the incentive programme of Vitality coupons that is offered. We took full advantage of as many body friendly activities and seminars as we could. We enjoyed the Thermal suite with the heated contour beds where we relaxed and read each afternoon. Our shore experiences were generally relaxed. Our best trip was the Costa Rican boat, train and bus trip that gave us the opportunity to go into the Costa Rican countryside and see homes and live of the people. My husband had broken his arm the week before we left, so we were limited in our water activities which were offered. However, the excursions that we did both independently and in a group were enjoyable and well organized. Our food experience in the Windjammer was relaxed and we did not eat in the main dining room by choice on this trip. We were pleased with the quality of food presented om the casual dining room upstairs.

we did this trip with multigenerations which made it real easy, there was something for everyone. the most memorable thing about the ship is meeting new people from all over the world i had read reports that the food was just ok on this ship but we found it to be exceptional, even with two of us being vegetarians. i found the diningroom to be too cool, the air conditioning was excessive, how can one wear party dresses but need to wear jackets to be warm. there was no conditioner on the ship but if customers were alerted ahead, that would be good. surprised to find out that pop and juice was an extra charge, i felt that should have been included, even if the fares were a touch more. anyone travelling from the west should go at least two days ahead, we travelled the day before to get miami and we had challenges with that as our last flight did not fly out of atlanta until the morning of the cruise due to connecting flights being late. otherwise a very good experience.

The organization and willingness to please of all the staff was a definite overall impression. The entertainment was top-notch and the cruise directoor highlly skilled. One improvement wrt itinerary...longer in the ports with more time to balance sight-seeing and relaxation. In terms of improvement, more convenient flight arrangements so that you don't lose most of the first day of your cruise and avoiding the unneccessarily early departure (6:45am) from the ship when our flight did not leave til 2pm. We found the ship was maintained beautifully with the exception of the public washrooms during peak hours.. They were not regularly attended to which really stood out in an otherwise well-serviced vessel.

We really enjoyed going through the Panama Canal... and looking at the wildlife along the shoreline with our binoculars. We saw crocs and parrots and even a huge anaconda snake. It was a great trip. The most memorable thing about our time on the ship was the 70's night in the Centrum. The cruise director, Joff, made this night a most special one. (by the way, he is excellent ! ). The energy that flowed through the ship that particular night was incredible. Lots of fun. One thing we thought could be improved... with our experience both last Christmas cruise as well as this one... is the tea selection. Last year there was nearly no green or herbal teas... this year there were a few blends of herbals along with a black tea selection... but no plain green tea or plain mint. We drink plain green tea at home all the time, so with the experience last year, we brought our own along with us... thank goodness. There was onboard a green with citrus blend... but I cannot have citrus. There is a mint with chamomile and spearmint blend... I cannot have spearmint and my husband doesn't like the taste of the chamomile. Just keep it simple with plain herbals... not the blends. We loved Jewel of the Seas! Our waitor and assistant waitor were exceptional... Jose and Olbert, table 526 at the main seating... and we really enjoyed a bartender server named Freddie in the Champagne bar.

We loved it all. RCCL is sooo great to sail with. We were especially pleased with the children's program Adventure Ocean. the staff was extremely helpful and accomodating as this was the first cruise we took with children. As usual, RCCL staff was wonderful, the food great, spa beautiful and overall feeling of being on the ship was pure happiness.

The cruise was wonderful. We were very impressed with the efficiency of the operation and with the way in which the cruise line tried to make it the best possible experience for guests. The staff were very accommodating. The entertainment was first class. I don't have many complaints. I found the constant "sell sell sell" message to be a bit off-putting and I also felt that there was a certain amount of nickel and diming which I found annoying. I thought the fruit could have been fresher. However these are very minor complaints. Overall we had a fabulous time.

The cruise was a very good first time experience. Unfortunately I was extremely ill the first three days and it was day 5 by the time I was feeling better and back to my "normal" self. Being sick meant I missed a good portion of what was offered those first 5 days like the New Year's Eve celebrations. Other than that the cruise was awesome. The excursions I had booked were well worth the time and extra money. Since I was travelling alone it made the ports of call much more interesting. The staff and crew were very good. The activities were awesome, the Mystery Dinner Theatre was a blast. I was not impressed with the photographers that took your picture going on and off the boat. Because I was alone they mostly ignored me and the few shots they did take were very poor quality - blurry - definitely not worth the $20 they wanted for them. The food was excellent, service was great. All in all a very good experience.

I love to cruise because of the pampering- I don't have to clean or cook, can see 5 countries and only unpack my suitcase once!! The Ship was well maintained and classy. The food was good- could have more variety from beef and seafood- there were few chicken options. Staff were helpful and friendly. The shows were exceptional- the Jewel performers were great. Shore excursions were well organized and of good quality. Getting on and off the ship went very smoothly. The PA system was poor-the only thing we seemed to hear well was the BINGO announcements. Thanks for a great vacation. Looking forward to the next one.

Overall we enjoyed the cruise as a good basic introduction to the Caribean area. As an all inclusive kind of experience it allows you to see more areas from the same accommodation. We enjoyed the shore excursions allowing a brief glimpse of the countries visited. The dining room service was very good and the food was well prepared. We would have enjoyed more though food that was representative of the countries visited within the context of all food being brought on board in Miami there was still room to prepare Haitian-style food or Costa Rican-styled food. Similarly drink variety was a little lacking. Also we would have appreciated some cultural information on the countries as an option on at sea days perhaps in the theater or cinema. There was a little too much smoking access in the ship bars and lounges. Any smoking area should have closed doors and separate ventilation or been outside.

Overall the ship was very nice and very clean. We had a wheelchair accessible stateroom and it was large enough, along with a large roll in shower in a good sized bathroom. A big thank you to the wonderful crew who lifted an occupied wheelchair onto a bopping boat when we were tendered. We were really surprised that it WAS possible and really felt that everyone was included. Again THANK YOU! Wheelchair accessible transportation is available in most ports but enquire before going ashore. Improvements... It would have been nice to have some lights on the Christmas wreaths and garlands for more Christmas sparkle. Paper cups in the specialty coffee bar were out of place and diminished the elegant atmosphere. The food in the buffet was a big disappointment as we had much much better on other cruiselines. The sit down dinners were better.

This was the first time after many cruises with RCCL that we were greatly disappointed. The service was not up to it's usual par as well as the common areas of the cruiseship were lacking. Another area of disappointment was the fact that during the "Port Shop Talk" a piece of jewellery was promoted and after discussing with the Port Shop Director was told where to purchase said piece. On arriving at Cayman, the piece was not available. RCCL should not promote items if they are not available. On a positive note, it was the first time having to use the onboard Medical Facility and we were greatly impressed with the equipment and care.

Overall impression is that Royal Caribbean are cutting back; for example, no more shampoos and lotions in bathroom, main dining room fish dishes were very poor, cafeteria food was bland and uninteresting, no lavish midnight buffet, and ship's entertainers were not near as good as on past cruises. However, I reserve my most critical comments for the, arrival registration, guest relations and excursions personnel. In comparison to past experience they were poorly trained and unknowledgable. ( It took five requests to have them stop converting our on-board expenses to Canadian dollars.) Excursions personnel could provide me with no information that was not already available in their booklet or on-line. On the positive side we liked the ship itself very much, (overall condition, decor, layout, bars etc.) the weather was excellent, the ports of call interesting and we had a very restful and relaxing cruise.

2 pools - one outdoor, one indoor; both salt water which is great for floating; lots of seating and service available the food was better than excellent - upon return the food tastes blah after enjoying such great meals the time available in ports was long enough to enjoy the sites the entertainment had a bit of everything - I would never be able to see so much in a year! only improvement would be keeping an eye on the wine stock - certain bottles were not available the first few days of the cruise but the house wine available was quite nice

1- Reaping the benefits of having a competent travel agent who guides you to a cruise that leads you to visit cities through good tours staffed by professional guides. All this complemented by living on a most luxurious ship. 2- Gourmet dining in an awesome ambiance with 6 friendly and interesting individuals. 3- The guest relations "desk" on the 4th deck. The personnel do their best but they need to provide a large amount of varied services to over 2000 guests. The facilities are small. The line-ups are frequently long. Some guests have a short question that needs a short answer while others have complex situations. Could there be some type of segregation...........?

Windjammer Cafe is set up as a series if islands and creates a 'pin-ball' effect in order to serve oneself, multiple trips are needed for even the simplest meal as there are no trays. (Watch out for the speedy bus boys taking away dishes as you are trying to zip around for your meal) Many tours start at approximately the same time and from the same location (needing to sort 20 or so bus loads from the theatre area) On the whole a wonderful trip and thoroughly enjoyable.

The weather cooperated. Leaving England, there was drizzle/rain, but over the North Sea, everything clearned, and we had sunshine and decent temps for 11 of the 12 days. There was drizzle in St. Petersburg. The view, out the bow was fantastic, you could see both what was on the port side and also on the starboard side. Maybe, its because this was our fifth cruise on Royal Caribbean, but the first cruise was the best. Service and everything have remained quite good, but the current trip can't be compared to the first cruise, probably because they are trying to cater to everyone. Many people wore similar clothing to casual, smart casual and formal. On our first trip, formal meant just that. Ladies in gowns and gents in tux.

We had the best Waiter, and assistant waiter you could want. Very attentive but not in you face and great personalities. Shows were excellent. Safari Club allowed smoking which depending on where you got seated was not very pleasant. Would like to see RCI allow wine on board like Princess. Very congested area for shopping, going from Centrum to Theatre, lots of evenings they had items for sale and the crowds made it very difficult to navigate the narrow aisles.

The best thing about the cruise was the location of the stateroom, (9076) and the very large balcony. The ship was very clean. We were very pleased to find out that because we are Diamond members, we had a special key that gave us access to the exclusive concierge club for evening cocktails compliments of RCCL. This was every evening from 5 till 8:30. We could also go there for breakfast, but only took advantage of it one time. The dining room food could use some inprovement. The menue was basically the same every night. The specialty dining was much better for a small price. The buffet (slop wagon) food was better than most ships, and it is great that you do not have to line up like pigs at the trough. You can move from station to station, unlike all other ships. Overall, we had a great trip.

Once we adjusted to where everything was, we were able to do what ever we wanted. If your worried about getting bored, don't. There was plenty of things to do and discover on the ship. I'm sure there were plenty of things that we did not get to do because of the limited amount of time. There was something there for everyone of our 18 member family to do and experience. If anyone did not have a great time, then it was by their own choice that they didn't.The Jewel of the Seas was a beautiful ship both inside and out. The service on the Jewel was second to none! Our travel arrangements were very well organized and we had very little difficulties getting to and from Florida. Sincerely; Ted Dempsey

Overall, I thought the cruise was relaxing and enjoyable. The service at dinner was slow. Although I found the staff to be friendly. I would say that for my first cruise it was a positive service.

Not being beach people, we were a bit disapointed in the stops at St.Thomas and Tortola. However keeping in mind we cruise for the shipboard relaxing as the highligh and we were not disapointed.

We really enjoyed the cruise. The staterooms were very comfortable and well-appointed. The beds were very comfortable. The balcony was as spacious as any on Princess. The staff was very friendly and eager to please. The ports of call were enjoyable and embarkation and disembarkation both at ports of call and boarding and leaving the cruise were noticeably well-organized. We were somewhat disappointed at the lack of some amenities. Royal Caribbean provided shampoo but no conditioner and no body lotion. There were no shower caps provided either. Hand sanitizer on enterine eating areas would have been appreciated as well. We really appreciated that the cruise line provided vouchers to give to the crew for tipping if the gratuities were left on a credit card. It felt good to be able to hand each person something tangible.

This was absolutely wonderful. We felt totally pampered. The only time we heard the word "no" was with "no problem". There was nothing that we asked for that wasn't granted. What a fabulous experience. We are hooked on cruising.

We were first time cruisers and just a little nervous about the unknown. The boarding process was painless and very efficient. On board we found a crew of people just waiting to spoil us and make sure we had a great time. Anything we wanted was there. The food was amazing. The dining room service was fantastic. We went on tours which we also found were well organized. We found this experience to be most enjoyable and very relaxing. We are looking forward to our next cruise.

The shopping card is a RIP OFF!!! On our cruise it was $25 and they present it as a good deal, but it isn't - just don't do it, trust me. I won't go into other details, as it is a waste of my time, and just trust me, don't bother. The stores they push are owned by the cruise companies, so it is in their best interests to have you go shopping there. The cruise itself was nice, we have cruised before and so it was interesting to compare against another cruise line (previous was Princess). There was a noticable difference because of more passengers. The previous cruise was about 1800, and this one was 2200 passengers and you notice that everything is a bit more crowded, from the eating areas to the pools and decks. Our stateroom was a very nice size and that was a bonus, the balcony was larger than our previous experience, and we fully enjoyed breakfast and afternoons out there. Service was quite good and to be honest, other than the shopping scam issue, it was an enjoyable cruise and both my husband and I had a great time. If we had a choice though, I think we would return to Princess, one passenger described it quite well, if Princess is a 5 star, then RCL is a 4 star, still very good, but not quite as good as Princess. As far as the ports go in the Caribbean, I think we had one of the best cruises, but was a little amazed at the number of jewlery stores in such an impoverished area - but that is our observation and may not be noticed by many. The Seaview cafe is worth the effort to find as at 12:30 am there weren't many options for finding food. As well, the drink stations around the ship seemed to get emptied prior to midnight, so finding a cup of tea was a challenge and didn't seem worth the effort of room service. As well, we found out on our last day that there was afternoon tea, but it was never advertised in any way. As well, midnight buffets occurred, but you would only know by hearsay, again not advertised. All the service staff we ran into (other than at the retail stores on the ship), were wonderful and friendly, and seemed to enjoy working for RCL (nice to see) and many indicated they had been with the company for years, another good indicator. The casino was not paying out as well as other casinos we have experienced, so take your chances there... luck of the draw I guess. Overall a good experience, but I think there are little things that could be improved, and as I said, I would most likely cruise on Princess, Celebrity and/or Cunard if we are to cruise again.

Great way to spend a family vacation. Six days is an ideal duration. We were very impresses with Jewel of the Sea and her courtreous crew. All aspects of cruise were professionally handled. Childrens activities were excellent as was the children's activities directors. Embarkation and disembarkation were very well managed, absolutely no confusion. Overall experience was excellent and looking forward to next cruise with Royal Caribbean. All cruise lines are not equal.

The Suite experience with Concierge service and opportunities for alternative dining options made this an outstanding cruise. As usual, the Master of the Ship was personable and friendly - RCI captains all seem to remember that they are not just guiding a ship with human cargo but are part of the passenger cruise experience - some other lines would do well to remember that approach as the attitude of the Master does impact ALL staff on the ship. The Jewl of the Seas is obviously a happy ship! Of course the food is not Gourmet level but it is more than adequate and in many cases does excel. Chops alternative restuarant and some of the dining room desserts deserve special praise. Time for freestyle eat when you like dining to be introduced as the set times and tables does lend itself to empty places on tables and to almost empty tables. Only criticisms are the usual for RCI - deckchair use not controlled; the asinine rules about not allowing any wine to be taken on board (I understand regarding hard liquor - but not wine); and the somewhat useless staff on Guest Relations who regard each passenger as a first timer who can be conned into believing anything. Also see comments about set dining times. In summary, an excellent ship on an excellent cruise line, probably the best cruise value available- we have booked the next RCI cruise already!

NOT GOOD IDEA TO BOOK SHIP JUST RETURNING FROM EUROPE. COAST GUARD TAKE MANY HOURS TO INSPECT AND YOU CAN'T BOARD UNTIL THEY HAVE CLEARED ABOUT 3 HOURS LATER THAN NORMAL. NEW SUPPLIES PUT ON BOARD FOR CARIBBEAN CLIENTELE TAKE UP TO 2 DAYS TO REACH THE BARS. NO ROOM SERVICE ON DEBARKATION MORNING. IN GENERAL ABOUT 15% BELOW CELEBRITY IN MOST AREAS. SHIP ITSELF IS VERY PLEASANT AND WELL MAINTAINED.
