About the Ship
Sensation
was launched way back in 1993, but the ship returned to the headlines in 2005 when it provided relief services to victims of Hurricane Katrina. It underwent a significant refurbishment in 2006, and has since returned to its usual cruises in the Bahamas and Western Caribbean. Like the rest of Carnival’s Fantasy class, this 70,367-ton ship measures 855 feet in length and has a passenger capacity of 2,052. Cruises aboard
Sensation
tend to be short itinerary, high-energy affairs, with passengers looking to pack as much fun and revelry into a few days as possible.
What to Expect
A jam-packed entertainment schedule, three pools, eight bars and lounges, and a rollicking casino keep passengers plenty busy. The décor of the ship reflects its age, but
Sensation's
amenities and service are anything but out of style.
Amenity Highlights
New additions to
Sensation’s
long list of amenities include a nine-hole mini-golf course, a 1,600-square-foot children's center on the Verandah Deck, and a fully redesigned spa and fitness center that houses 30 exercise machines. Room service is available around the clock, and a very popular pizzeria stays open 24 hours a day, too.
Who Should Go
Families love
Sensation's
short itineraries and simple layout, and the majority of passengers are middle-class folks in search of a quick, fun-filled getaway from everyday life. Others combine a cruise with an Orlando visit. Passengers of all ages and ethnic backgrounds can be found aboard this ship, and there are groups of singles rubbing elbows with family reunions and retirees on the Lido Deck.
Itineraries
Sensation
's primary cruise offering includes:
Bahamas from Cape Canaveral, FL (3 or 4 nights)
